Hybrid Technology: Integrated Functionality

Hybrid components from NESPER combine the advantages of metal and plastic. Precisely overmolded, manufactured with proven process reliability and 100% inspected – for complex applications in automotive, electronics, industry and more.

In hybrid technology, we create a highly precise bond between metal and plastic. By overmolding stampings or complete assemblies, we produce function-integrated components that combine mechanical, electrical and geometric requirements in one part – robust, lightweight and assembly-friendly.

Our highly automated systems enable cost-efficient production of large volumes – with an integrated vision system for 100% quality inspection and direct placement into customer-specific packaging. This ensures efficient series production with maximum process reliability.

We manufacture hybrid components and assemblies from very small batches up to high-volume production.

Our Production Facilities for Hybrid Components

NESPER utilizes a variety of production platforms such as rotary indexing machines, reel-to-reel systems, workpiece carrier circulation systems, and the integration of assembly technology or laser processes. With these versatile in-house capabilities, even the most complex requirements can be implemented flexibly – from prototype to million-part series.

Insert Technology – Precision Bonding of Metal and Plastic

The combination of stamped metal insert parts and plastic is one of NESPER’s core competencies. Depending on complexity and volume, inserts are loaded manually, semi-automatically or fully automatically – always with maximum process reliability.

Our inserts range from delicate contact pins to robust connectors. The result is durable, functionally reliable hybrid components that optimally combine electrical, mechanical and thermal requirements.

Whether safety-relevant sensor housings for automotive, or precision components for industrial or electrical engineering: NESPER relies on integrated test processes and automated quality controls.

Reel-to-Reel

Feeding and overmolding pre-stamped strip material (reel-to-reel technology) enables maximum productivity and precision at NESPER in the manufacture of hybrid components.

Beyond pure overmolding, the production line can be flexibly expanded with additional process steps – enabling fully automated series production with maximum efficiency.

Integratable processes include:

  • Resistance welding to integrate electronic components
  • Servo presses with high-precision bending tools
  • Camera inspection systems for 100% inline control
  • Laser marking with Data Matrix codes for complete traceability

Reel-to-Piece

In reel-to-piece production, the stamped and overmolded continuous strip is singulated in the final step – meaning the parts are separated and packed into customer-specific packaging, unlike reel-to-reel where the product remains on strip.

These hybrid components are commonly used in mobility applications and sensor technology. Depending on requirements for cleanliness, handling or further processing, NESPER supplies parts either singulated or in trays – always under controlled conditions and with maximum process reliability.

Reel-to-piece enables precise, clean and cost-efficient manufacturing – ideal for demanding applications where every detail matters.
